approval

hi i am a noobie. it seems like the prep and approval process takes a long time. can anyone tell me what the approval prcess is? i am sure the prep is some sort of compression.

Rob, The lag time is team WellcomeMat reviewing all content that is uploaded and approving or disapproving content. Our members count on us to keep the focus of this site on local video, and we therefore have to screen all new content. We have identified ways to speed this process up, such as automatically publishing content. Problem is, to do this we have to have a "flag this video" mechanism in place so that irrelevant content gets taken down. In order to have the flagging mechanism in place, we have to have our video search live on the site. Long answer for "we have an approval process. Sorry about that.
