Mike Walters was interested in real estate as a teenager and wanted to buy a lot in Napa County, California before he could drive. Today, his parents wished they had let him buy that lot in 1964.
Mike bought his first home at age 23 and his second a year later. Shortly after graduating from San Jose State University Mike began his real estate lending career in 1973. He was a frequent guest speaker for real estate classes at the junior colleges in Santa Clara County and was a regular Sales Success course instructor at Anthony Schools.
Mike Walters created and managed his own retail branch for Community West Mortgage and later became the Vice President of Net Branch Expansion.
Innovative Realty Service became a natural, seamless service for the Lending side of his business in 1994. Later Innovative joined the Broker Network of Realty World. Since Mike Walters added Realty World to his One-Stop-Shopping services he has been an aggressive associate, selling his own listings 23% of the time. From the mortgage department Mike generates many of his own buyers who are looking for a home. His sellers also become buyers.
Mike Walters has worked with many of the successful real estate agents, title company officers, appraisers and termite companies in Santa Clara, San Benito, Monterey and Merced Counties. This natural network of first-name associations benefits each of Mike Walters clients.
He and his wife, Dawn, moved to Hollister in 1981 where they have raised their family. Mike became a Commissioner on San Benito County's Juvenile Justice Delinquency and Prevention Commission in 1990 and is their past Chairman. Mike has also been a Commissioner on the county's Workforce Investment Board since 1996. He has been involved with the Boy Scouts of America and various other youth groups. He enjoys long distance bicycling, back packing, photography, cities of his western history, genealogy and the banjo.
