Forgive my ignorance.... I am currently a premier member and looking at upgrading to Pro to lock in the $19.95/month pricing plan. I was looking at the "enhanced" features that come with the Pro accounts but did not fully understand the "Curbside Video Playback for Mobile Devices." Can anyone fully explain what that feature is?

Anthony,

Curbside means that your clients will have access to video links that play videos on mobile devices. For example, your customer has a "Watch the Video: www.wellcomemat.com/sdrinc9" on their yard sign and people can now watch videos straight from the curb.

Is this feature simply a shorter link to the video? I have an iPhone and can not watch wellcomemat videos due to the lack of flash, are mobile devices able to watch videos now with the regular links? Also, will the iPhone be able to view our wellcomemat videos with the enhanced feature?

We are rolling out HD and mobile video viewing at the same time. Yes, iPhones will be able to access these mobile video files.

Fertile space here.  iphone is not yet Flash friendly at all, although I do believe Flash is coming to the iPhone courtesy of Apple and Adobe getting more friendly.  Don't know when that is slated to happen though.

For now, I think this simply means multiple versions of the same video.  I see an iphone app as a very cool tool for RE agents to have on their iphones and through which they could show their videos.  But iphone dev is demanding and has some latency attached to it. And depending on where you live, there could still be BARELY any iphone-centric activity.  Like in Madison , WI for instance.  Lots of students and hipsters looking cool with their iphone, but hardly anyone in the home buying demographic has one (imo anyway).  I find the Blackberry to be a far more common device carried by the home buying demographic.  BUt RIM is way behind the dev curve.  I have no idea if video on a Blackberry is easily done or viable etc.

Any Blackberry using RE agents or producers out there using their Blackberry as a video display tool?

I think you'd be surprised how many "non" hipsters are purchasing iPhones, just visit your local Apple store and watch. Once HTML 5 is more widely adopted it will be irrelevant if you have Flash or not, it may actually be the slow death of Flash.

I'd be interested to find out as well if Blackberry's can play the iPhone encoded video. From the specs for the latest phones it would seem yes, but I can't verify since I don't own a Blackberry... I have "hipster" phone:)

I'm not an Apple fan, but I'm hoping for HTML 5 to become standard sooner than later... I don't like monopolies, and I that's how I feel about Flash... lol!

Not to mention, I think video quality will improve if we can drop Flash as well... there are a lot of other formats that perform better... *couch* Quicktime *cough*

I think curbside video is an awesome feature.  But I do think that for this feature, as well as the videos on the site, customization of the link would be nice.  For example:

www.wellcomemat.com/sdrinc9

is not near as appealing as say,

www.wellcomemat.com/4310windingway

It's longer but at least I read it once, I can remember it, whereas the to link is just arbitrary, or at least it seems to be.
