Your profile info is not only important for your presence on WellcomeMat, it is also built into our video player. This means that wherever your videos end up, your profile info is included.
To edit your profile, simply login and select "Edit Profile" from the dashboard dropdown tab.

What is a Channel?Back to Top
Your WellcomeMat Channel is where all of your videos are found on the same webpage. Think of it as a blog for all your videos on WellcomeMat. When people arrive to your Channel page, they can search through your videos and contact you if desired.
For example, the co-founder of WellcomeMat, Christian Sterner's channel name is /sterner. To get to his channel page, type www.WellcomeMat.com/sterner into your browser.

The best place to get help on WellcomeMat is from our community! We have a forum where you will always find lively discussions going on regarding local video, and video being used for professional purposes. Here are some steps to getting started in "The Hood" (our forum):
1) Visit The Hood by Clicking This Link
2) Review the Current Discussions or Search for Topis Using the Keyword Search Field
3) Post Your Own Topic/Discussion

WellcomeMat Points: How to improve your placement in the WellcomeMat Member or Filmmaker directoriesBack to Top
Our points system is how you gain ideal placement on WellcomeMat. Points are awarded most heavily for total number of new videos uploaded, the ratings of those videos (thumbs up and thumbs down), and when you invite new members to WellcomeMat. To view the breakdown of our point system, simply login and go to "My Score" and it will show your point totals based on specific actions taken on WellcomeMat. For an explanation about point totals, simply roll-over the blue numbers in the 'Points Per Action' column.
Note: Points are not alays tallied in real-time.They are periodically updated, so please give us some time to add new items.

What is a Connection and Why Should I Care?Back to Top
Connections are meant to be used to follow what other people are doing on WellcomeMat. When you become connected with someone, it means that you will be fed information about that person on your Connection Feed (On the Dashboard landing page). The Connection Feed shows you all the recent actions taken by your connections on WellcomeMat (i.e. if a connection uploads a new video, or posts a new comment or topic within The Hood (our forum), etc.). To make your Connection Feed more fun, click this link and request connections. We highly recommend connecting with people that you respect or compete with. In either case, you can watch what they are up to.
Being connected with other people on WellcomeMat also makes it a lot faster to send them messages, and add them to a Group Channels.
