  2. What the Difference Between Pending, Active, and Inactive Videos?

WellcomeMat has 3 video statuses for videos posted on our site: Pending, Active, and Inactive:

Pending Status means that either details were entered about a video, but a video file was never uploaded, OR it means that you have uploaded a video that has not yet been entirely processed by WellcomeMat and made active.

Active Videos are videos that are publicly available and visible. When a video is uploaded to WellcomeMat, it automatically becomes active/published once it has been "transcoded." To sort the order of appearance of the videos seen on your channel, simply go to "Manage Videos" --> "Sort Active Videos" and move Up or Down accordingly!

Inactive Videos are videos that you want to remove from Active Status. By making a video Inactive, it will automatically remove it from everywhere the video is on the web. Unlike when you delete a video, you can make an Inactive Video "Active" at anytime by going into the Inactive Folder and selecting "Reactivate" next to the video.

  3. More On Video Quality - Your Video Dimensions and the Clarity of Your Video Playback on WellcomeMat

Have you ever stretched a photo image into a bigger size than it was originally and seen what it does to the quality? Bad right? The same is true for videos.

By default, WellcomeMat plays videos back at "Full-Scale" meaning we apply a rule to your videos that forces them to take up a maximum amount of our video player's frame. To get the best quality on WellcomeMat's platform, and to have your videos stretched as minimally as possible, upload files that adhere to our Ideal Settings.

If you are managing your videos in a way that force you to not upload files in our ideal settings, you can opt to play your videos back in their "Original Size." What this means is that you can change your settings so that WellcomeMat does NOT stretch your videos. Here's how to do that:

Pro Customers: Login to WellcomeMat > Select "Manage Videos" from the dashboard dropdown > Select the "Global Video Settings" Tab > Select the "Original Size" Radio Button as Your Choice for "Default Video Playback"

Note: if you are a Pro customer and do not want ALL your videos to adhere to the above rule, please manage your settings individually via the following directions for Basic members.

Basic Members: Login to WellcomeMat > Select "Manage Videos" from the dashboard dropdown > Select "Edit/Preview" Next to the Correct Video > Click the "Settings" Link > Select the "Original Size" Radio Button as Your Choice for "Default Video Playback"

  7. What to do if your videos have failed to distribute to YouTube:

In order to gain our members the best possible playback quality, WellcomeMat distributes files to Youtube without changing them at all: what you upload is exactly what we send. This ensures that your videos are only encoded once, and the benefit of this is that videos sent to YouTube via WellcomeMat end up playing back at the best possible clarity/quality.

In rare cases, videos will fail to distribute properly to YouTube, and our team has found that the vast majority of these files are more than 200MB. This means that you should try to upload smaller files whenever possible. If you export your video files using WellcomeMat's "Ideal Settings," your videos will playback with great quality and your files will be small enough to minimize distribution failure.

If your files have failed to distribute to YouTube, and your are entitled to support as a Pro customer, please send as much detail as possible to support@wellcomemat.com (please be sure to always include a link to the video in your message).

  8. Embedding Videos and Channels on Wordpress Blogs

Many blog platforms traditionally strip out important characters from our embed codes for both videos and channels - preventing them from displaying correctly or communicating with our servers as necessary.  In order to correctly embed within your blog, you need to make sure that you are editing within HTML mode as opposed to Visual mode.

Additionally, WordPress strips out information through security filters even when editing in HTML mode, requiring you to install a third-party plugin.  We suggest using RAW HTML ( http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/raw-html/ ) as it supports all versions of WordPress through their latest release (3.0).  After installing the plugin you will have to surround your embed codes with [RAW] and [/RAW] tags.
