After several years as a film maker, I entered independent video in 1970 , producing both educational and documentary work. The latter has continued to the present and includes work both here and in Europe, frequently funded by grants, including the MacArthur Foundation (see my new www.headofsteamvideo,com website for details).
Over the last twenty years I have also specialized in short video demo pieces - 3 to 8 minutes - for artists and performers. Recently I have expanded this form to aid small e-commerce businesses.
Over the last 5 years I combined this work with garden photography for magazine and web use (my wife and I also run a specialized nursery for mediterranean zone and tropical plants). I developed robot motion control systems in the late '80's and still continue to incorporate photos into my video work.
I work by myself, with various colleagues as "virtual partners", on our seven acre farm which houses our nursery and gardens.
