About Mr. Franks
The Supreme Commander of The Real Estate MarketPlace and A Good Guy, In General!
Ron "Chip" Franks was born in 1972 in the thriving metropolis of Killeen, Texas and makes his profession there as one of the country's premier real estate professionals. Being born as the son of a Marine, Chip has spent a lot of time in different areas of the country and the world going to a total of 20 schools until graduating with a Degree in Marketing from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas (Mr. Franks calls this "God's Country").
He began his real estate career in October of 1995 as an assistant to a top producing Realtor in Killeen, learning and running the entire business fresh from A&M. "It was like drinking water from a fire hose," says Mr. Franks of his first hectic days of real estate in the Central Texas market. The entire business from advertising, to taking initial phone calls, to the rigorous details of the contract to closing process--Mr. Franks' baptism in fire in the real estate business in Killeen, Texas began a rewarding career that continues to the current day.
The next year, Chip began practicing real estate as an Independent contractor with a small independent company that employed his mother as an office manager. With her help in closing transactions, and specializing in selling VA Acquired homes (foreclosures), Mr. Franks worked night and day to sell 42 homes his first full year in the business. It was also at this time that he married the love of his life, Laura Franks (previously Laura Gonzalez of Chicago, Illinois). Another year and a half later, after acquiring his Texas Real Estate Broker's License at the required two years of practicing real estate, Mr. Franks opened his own real estate brokerage, The Real Estate MarketPlace.
Named for Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations and the "Invisible hand of Capitalism," The Real Estate MarketPlace was created with the values of: Value, Integrity, and Service in mind. These were emblazoned on the logo for the business. What makes the MarketPlace so different than other real estate companies is that rather than working with one independent contractor real estate agent, the Clients of The MarketPlace work with the entire company. With specialists in the areas of Purchasing Property, Contract to Closing, Property Management, and Selling Homes for Top Dollar, The MarketPlace can serve a greater number of Clients with far greater expertise than any single agent ever could. Since beginning The MarketPlace, Chip has been involved in more than 1,000 real estate transactions and still learns more about the business every day. Mr. Franks now resides with his beloved Wife and two daughters, Mandy and Aly Franks in Salado, Texas. He is now working to improve and duplicate his unique real estate system to other areas of Central Texas.
