Flip Video Camera
Is anyone using one of these for tours?
Hi Dale,
I have been using the Flip for a little over a year now. Video is good, audio is terrible, so I add narration and music later. Turns out pretty good for what I need. I am looking at upgrading as soon as I can afford something new.

Hi Dale,
Here is a recent tour that was done with a modified Flip MinoHD Flip MinoHd Video Tour Sample also be sure to read our article on How to Hack Your Flip here at How to Hack Your Flip MinoHD . We have many more examples with this camera if interested. NOTE: this example is playing at about 600kbs and if you wanted to turn the bitrate up a bit the quality of course would increase...the camera does good for doing cheaply priced tours, but don't expect the pro results nor the pro pricing with this camera.

It really depends on your audience. I use the Flip MinoHD when I need to shoot something for one individual buyer - more of a vlog style peek into a specific aspect of a house. Some people want to see the view from the toilet or kitchen sink - something that doesn't always make it into a standard, high-quality shoot. Flip is great in these situations.
This new iPhone 3G s does some pretty decent video. It's not HD but I was thinking about maybe doing some PIP with it. I thought I read that there was a stablizer for it as well.
I experimented with the iPhone a bit... and found it didn't hack it for inside/low light. Outside probably okay.
