Music?
Anyone have a great source for background music, free, paid or other?
I've used Sony Cinescore to generate music, but it get's expensive because you have to keep buying new themes so you don't get bored.... only a couple of their 'free' themes (that come with the software) are even suitable for what I do, so it's kinda lame...
I also have an agreement with a local musician (www.jonschmidt.com) to use his music free of charge in exchange for the additional exposure (links to his website, tag at the end of every video with his music in it, etc.).
Other than that, I've looked at Jamendo.com which has "UG" music (user-generated) available. It's free to download, but the commercial-usage license is, I believe $3. Some of the music is horrible, and some is pretty good. It takes a lot of time to sift through it. I've only used one commercially, though I think I've got a couple projects coming where I'll hit up Jamendo again.
Would anyone know if there is a source for commercial music that copyrights have expired for that could be used for our purposes.
Maybe this is something WM could look into as a service/source. Not for free but kind of the same agreement that Dustin has. Giving exposure and volume in exchange for favorable pricing, just a thought.
On the "Rates" page at Freeplay.com it lists the price per 4 min. per internet video as $100. That's way out of the price range for real estate video... though I think I'll bookmark that site for commercial usage on corporate videos or films in the future... :) Thanks Corey!
