Stabilization Program
Has anyone had any luck with a stabilization program? I am looking for something to stabilize steadicam shots that are a little to bouncy. I have been using After Effects recently, but have not had great success.
Thanks,
Charles

I actually just posted a video on YouTube showing the SmoothCam filter thats built into Final Cut Pro. My clip was beyond saving as I seriously RUNNING around a field without anything except the camera in my hand. But it shows the SmoothCam Filter at work.
Oh, and heres the same clip with no SmoothCam filter applied.
Yep, SmoothCam Filter in Final Cut. It works very well. I use it even if my shots look decent with out it. I always shoot at 720 60p also and drop the video into a 60p timeline. Upon transcode is where I convert to 30p. That format is the best for reworking speed as well. 1080 60i works well too but I like working in progressive since most of my work is being output to the internet. 60p seems to transcode well to any format including 24p. Now if only I had a camera that could overcrank 1080 I'd be set.
I use Lock 'n Load periodically to smooth out driving shots on bumpy roads.

It works well, but it's VERY time consuming, even though they claim this is one of the faster ones. I can't imagine using it on an entire video.
I have proDAD Mercallie http://www.prodad.de/gb/mercalli_std_details.html and have had moderate success depending on the footage, it's a plug in - you can try if for free - it will put a water mark when you go to render unless you pay for it - it you get it a try let me know if it works for you...
