Stuttering In Internet Explorer

I am getting stuttering of my WellcomeMat videos in Internet Explorer.  The stuttering occurs on multiple PC's, on both Windows XP and Win 7, on multiple ISPs', and with both IE 8 and IE 9 Beta. When I play the videos in Firefox they play smoothly. The same videos, when syndicated to other sites,  play smoothly in IE. When I convert my source material to Flash and play on my own site, the video also plays smoothly in IE.

Support believes there may be an interaction between the WM player and IE, but has not received reports from others. I am curious if anyone else has encountered this problem and has a solution. Thanks.

 Kill the (IE) beast!

Provide a link so we can view the video?

Just tried to view your Showcase video in Safari on a Mac and it stutters as well :(

Hi Matti,

Thanks for looking. Here is a link to the video for which I have done most of the testing.

Played both again, once in Safari on Mac and once on Windows in IE8 and seemed to play fine.

Could be just a processor/memory issue. Are you having problems with all windows/programs closed?

All..just a heads up that I have tested this video within multiple browsers as well -- no issues. Solid.

Austin,

I am running XP on a fairly old laptop and I saw a bit of stuttering myself. I am wondering if this is more of a processor issue? Also on IE 8. Good luck and oh yeah, nice video!

Matti, Christian, Peter,

Thank you all for your feed back. It is relieving to hear that videos are playing smoothly on someone's IE!! About 74% of my audience views by IE. I have dual core and quad core machines, and both are not resource limited on playback, so I don't think that is the issue. I wonder if I have a setting in my version of IE that is causing it - I'll play around with that. I have the latest version of Flash player, so I don't think that is of issue. Again, thank you for the thoughts and help.

Maybe you should install Chrome, Safari,  and Firefox to see if the issue is in IE8. Also, check your tranfer rate free here: http://www.speedtest.net/
