Tour icon on Realtor.com is "gone"
Another dumb move on the part of R.com?
They removed the tour icon that was somewhat noticeable before and replaced it with just the word "Tour" which is hardly noticeable.
Frankly, I did not see it and I am sure most people will not see it either.
Do you concur or am I just being picky?
If you agree let it be known, tell your Realtor clients and ask them to make the fact that there is a tour more prominent by reinstating a tour icon.
They now have the TOUR button and the VIDEO button.
I put up the TOUR tour... and they have to upload the VIDEO tour. I encourage them to do both, so there are two buttons at the bottom.

Fred, there used to be a tour button but no longer!
Where do you see the TOUR button, I only see the word "Tour" under the main photo, to the left of "Larger Photos"?
I just got an email from a client asking what was up and I can't find any info or reason as to why they removed the icon. A tiny little word next to: "Larger Photos" that says "tour." Not cool. If there is a video and a tour now it just says both words. No icons or buttons anymore. Why on earth would they do this??
Puzzling and concerning.... Realtors have the power to fight this... call and complain as should the tour providers. I made sure to tell them know that it was a stupid move!
Realtor.com has been known to do stupid things that don't benefits the clients they serve. This seems to be one of them.
Their phone message still says "Don't forget to leverage the power of the red spinning house", that icon that people got to know was changed a long time ago.
This was Picture Path's response:
We have checked the most recent tour you have posted and found the tour link to be appearing. We feel the issue is that the tour button was moved on 4/19/2011 to just below the main photo of the home. This was done to keep it close to other media links that can appear like Video and Larger Photos.
That last paragraph was still part of their response. I'm still trying to figure out how I feel about it. Technically, they are right. Even though it's small and wimpy looking, it is closer to the photos and harder to ignore. However, it's lost all its "pop." It's not special anymore BUT if it's their way of saying that viewing the tour is as important as looking at a larger image of the house, I guess that's kind of a step forward for us. Hmmmm. Glass half full here or is it definitely almost empty?
Better solution would have been to place icons there instead of text. In my humble opinion there is a lot of text already and it just gets lost. Adding a tour icon in the same area would have been a better option.
Track your views and I'm afraid there will be less of them:(
We know now where to look for it, but to someone new to the site looking for a home it will not be readily apparent that there is a tour on the property.
There is a tour icon on the listing page, it would only be logical to continue with the same icon and carry it over the listing page, like it was before.
