A tradition since 1993, the Nashua Winter Holiday stroll takes place on the Saturday evening following Thanksgiving. Much of Nashua's quaint, historic downtown is closed to traffic for the evening, welcoming nearly 30,000 people from all across New England, who participate in the tradition that starts off with a candelit walk from City Hall up to Library Hill, where the city's Christmas tree is lit for the first time. Strollers wander up and down the streets sampling over 50 different artistic and cultural performances including dancing, theatre, music and the carving of the ice sculptures. (less)
