In 1974, a Portland, Oregon, physician and surgeon, Bill McAllister, discovered and fell in love with a very special ranch. It was located at the point where the forested eastern foothills of Mount Hood join the highlands of Central Oregon, an easy and beautiful ninety-minute drive from Portland. Wildlife and water were abundant, and much of the land was highly productive for agriculture. (more)
