The classic charm and elegance of this 19th century home awaits!

This landmark home served as the original residence of the Thompson Family, namesake of Thompson Hill and early Rhode Island entrepreneurs. In the late 1700s and early 1800s, the Thompsons ship mast building enterprise functioned on the property producing hand-crafted masts that were transported to the Blackstone River, floated downstream to Providence and offered commercially to ship builders along the Eastern seashore.

In 1842 during the Rhode Island Dorrs Rebellion, a hidden space within the inner corridor of the six fireplace central pyramid served as a safe refuge for the homeowners when angry immigrants attacked the home and other wealthy landowners over the states restrictive voting rights laws.
