The quaint town of Soquel has a historic-turn of the century feeling with its classic churches, library, post office, and rows of antique stores. The area was noted in the 1700’s for the Soquel Creek, and this same creek offers a pleasant setting for bordering restaurants, featuring local organic cuisine, and local wineries events alike. Several of the county’s earliest wineries were started in the hills of Soquel, including Bargetto winery, now in their third generation of wine producing, and their cousins, Soquel Vineyards, further up into the hills, with full ocean views.
