Situated between the communities of Manasquan and Spring Lake along the New Jersey shoreline, the borough of Sea Girt offers a small-town respite for residents and vacationers alike. Originally purchased as private land for a summer estate in the mid-1800s, this beachside town was eventually developed as a summer vacation resort area. Today, its 1900 permanent inhabitants enjoy gorgeous views and outdoor activities year-round. The beach at Sea Girt is open all year, offering a great place to sunbathe and swim in summer and to stroll quietly in the off-season. The adjacent non-commercial boardwalk provides gorgeous panoramic views of the ocean, as well as access to the town’s historic lighthouse built in 1896, for which guided tours are available to the public.
